“Adelaide Oval and Crypto.com Join Forces to Introduce Cryptocurrency Payments for Aussie Sports Enthusiasts”

Published:

Crypto.com and Adelaide Oval have announced a partnership to bring the first-ever crypto payments to a major stadium in Australia. This collaboration involves payments terminals provider DataMesh and will allow sports fans and concert-goers to pay with crypto at food and drink outlets in the stadium. The payment solution used will be Crypto.com Pay, which supports multiple cryptocurrencies.

The integration will be available starting April 4 at the AFL’s Gather Round event, with the first 1,000 transactions receiving a cashback of AUD$10. More incentives will be rolled out during the 2024 Toyota AFL Premiership Season and at Adelaide Crows’ home games.

According to Crypto.com’s General Manager for APAC, Karl Mohan, this payment technology is user-friendly and scalable, making it promising for future integrations. DataMesh CEO Mark Nagy also expressed their mission to break down barriers for crypto adoption and empower consumers by bridging the gap between traditional and digital payments.

This partnership comes after Crypto.com’s collaboration with Datamesh and OTR to introduce the first in-store crypto payments system in Australia, which is now available at over 440 Peregrine retail outlets. With this new partnership, crypto enthusiasts in Australia have more options to conveniently and securely use their digital assets.
