Layer 1 blockchain platform Aptos recently announced a new Web3 game based on the upcoming horror-comedy movie Renfield, which stars Nicholas Cage and Nicholas Hoult.
The collaboration between Aptos Labs and NBCUniversal, the parent company of Universal Pictures, was revealed on Friday.

Aptos Creates Web3 Game for Renfield
The upcoming movie Renfield, starring Nicholas Cage as the centuries-old Count Dracula, is getting an immersive Web3 game from Aptos, offering players a chance to win various prizes.
“NBCUniversal chose Aptos to bring FREE RENFIELD to life with digital collectibles, so fans can savor every last drop of the Renfield universe,” the Aptos team tweeted.
The game will feature movie-inspired digital collectibles, custom Dracula-inspired jewelry, 24-carat gold bug jewelry, vintage Dracula film posters, and a rare 1967 Dracula pinball machine.
Only legal U.S. residents aged 18 and above are allowed to play the game. Renfield will be released in theaters on April 14, 2023.

Aptos Labs is currently among the most popular Web3 gaming platforms. Last February, they released a new Software Development Kit (SDK) offering game developers tools to enhance interoperability and transparency in the gaming ecosystem. Before that, in November 2022, they partnered with NPIXEL, a South Korea-based game developer. The platform has also made partnerships with MoonPay and Google Cloud.
