Binance to Support Georgia Crypto Industry Through Blockchain Education

Digital Asset platform Binance has committed to helping Georgia advance its cryptocurrency sector through launching educational and other blockchain-related initiatives. The leading crypto trading platform has been expanding its presence in the region with similar projects from various nations.

Binance and Georgian Tech Agency to Cooperatively Advance Country’s Crypto Economy

The world’s most popular digital asset provider Binance announced the signing of a memorandum of understanding with Georgia Technology and Innovation Agency (GITA). The two entities will join forces to launch instructional and group initiatives in the blockchain space, and further improve the nation’s crypto operations.

The agreement is reached after a pact was struck between the chief executive and the trading platform. Changpeng Zhao met with Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili in November to discuss investments. Each project will be covered by Binance Academy and Binance Charity, in addition to a series of local events and hackathons by BNB Сhain, a press release details.

“Our goals are in line with the goals of the Georgia Agency for Innovation and Technology: together, we can create an effective system in Georgia, through which innovation and technology can be developed,” said Binance Regional Director Vladimir Smerkis. He also stated:

For a long time, we have been monitoring the crypto market and particularly in the area of crypto education. Without a doubt, Georgia is one of the most innovative countries in the region.

GITA President Avtandil Kasradze noted that blockchain-related hackathons and workshops to be held in Georgia’s tech parks will facilitate the formation of new start-up ideas and the implementation of commercialization-oriented projects.

This shouldn’t be the first educational effort Binance has undertaken in Georgia, a crypto-friendly tourist destination that intends to update its digital assets regulations and legalize trading. In January, the exchange signed a memorandum for cooperation with the Business and Technology University (BTU) to supply blockchain education to its students, while Binance Academy will provide instructional materials about blockchain, Web3, NFTs (and cryptocurrencies)

Binance has participated in similar initiatives in other countries in Eastern Europe, the post-Soviet area, and the Caucasus region as part of its focus in order to increase its presence in the region. In December, a blockchain education program was launched by the global crypto firm in Kazakhstani universities and was provided to assist Azerbaijan in its efforts to adopt crypto regulations.
