Bitfinex, a prominent digital asset exchange, has declared it will be sponsoring a coding bootcamp exclusively for women.

In a press release shared with CoinJournal on Tuesday, Bitfinex stated that it has partnered with Penguin Academy for the three-week introductory course in coding. The bootcamp will take place from 3rd to 24th May, 2023 in Ciudad del Este, Paraguay.

We are ecstatic to collaborate with Penguin Academy to introduce this extraordinary educational opportunity to women in Paraguay. The potential of code is evident in Latin America, where it can be used as a strong tool, particularly when utilized by women who can then build and execute new solutions to benefit their communities,” stated Claudia Lagorio, Chief Operating Officer at Bitfinex.

Bitfinex’s support for the program underlines its dedication to using technology to promote individual freedom throughout “underserved communities worldwide,” Lagorio added.

Course Content includes microelectronics, robotics, IoT and web development

The curriculum of the course, designed by Penguin Academy, covers the fundamentals of Python, blockchains and microelectronics. Students will also have the opportunity to take part in workshops in robotics, IoT and web development.

Participants will also gain from networking opportunities, with a range of events planned for this – including meet and greets, career nights and speed dating.

The bootcamp will be concluded with a five-day hackathon. The top three contestants will receive scholarship awards on the demo day. Additionally, the participants will be invited to Plan B. Summer School in Lugano, Switzerland.

The partnership with Penguin Academy is the most recent program of Bitfinex which promotes financial inclusion and individual freedom through technology. The cryptocurrency exchange was established in 2012.

Penguin Academy’s coding bootcamp, which was also launched in 2012, is currently in its third year. It has been conducted in Switzerland, Germany, Bulgaria, China and the Philippines, and is now taking place in Paraguay. Over 2000 people have been trained in 2019.
