Bitget Pours $30 Million Into Bitkeep, Valued at $300 Million

Bitget, a crypto derivatives provider, declared that it had invested $30 million into the multichain wallet company, Bitkeep, making it the startup’s majority stakeholder. On Wednesday, the wallet service was also granted access to the exchange’s security and technology. Bitkeep’s multichain wallet allows users to join with several defi projects and non-fungible token (NFT) projects.

The wallet users can access Bitcoin (BTC), Solana (SOL), Fantom (FTM), Polygon (MATIC), Tron (TRX), Heco (HT), Ethereum (ETH), Binance Smart Chain (BSC), OEC (OKT), and other blockchains. This past May, the wallet secured $15 million in a funding round led by Dragonfly Capital. Other participants included Kucoin Ventures, A&T Capital, Foresight Ventures, Sevenx, Matrixport, Bixin Capital, Danhua Capital, Peak Capital, and YM Capital.

The additional $30 million injection from Bitget gives Bitkeep a post-capitalization value of $300 million. Gracy Chen, managing director at Bitget, commented, “This move is a win-win option for both Bitget and Bitkeep, and encourages collaborations in the decentralized space and beyond. We are delighted to be able to provide the Bitkeep team with the necessary support to strengthen the stability and security of its services, as well as thrilled to have such a distinguished industry player join our growing ecosystem.”

Bitkeep claims to have over 8 million users globally, spanning 168 countries in North America, Europe, and Asia. The wallet offers support for 80 different blockchains as well as 250,000 crypto assets. It is in direct competition with Web3 wallets such as WeLike, Metamask, and B3 wallets. Other competitors include Defi Swap, Zengo, Safepal, and Trust Wallet.
