Over the course of the past year, searches for the term “NFT” reached a peak of a 100 rating on the platform. As of January 28, 2023, the rating had declined to 11 out of 100.

Since then, with the rising popularity of NFTs, the search query hit a peak score of 100 during the past year. Despite the decreased interest, the 5 NFT collections with the highest gross sales amount, as a whole, have reached an impressive $12.7 billion.

According to dappradar.com, the NFT project with the highest gross sale amount since it began to gain significant consideration is Axie Infinity, with total sales of $4.27 billion. On January 28, 2023, dappradar.com reported that Axie Infinity’s market capitalization stood at $1.37 million, which is equal to the floor price multiplied by the total pickup supply.

Coming in second in total gross sales is the Cryptopunks project at $3.02 billion. At the time of writing, the market value was higher than the current market capitalization of $1.04 billion, with 7,503 retailers having made 23,259 gross sales. Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC) came in third with total gross sales of $2.39 billion, being traded at 15,176 retailers and a market capitalization of $1.02 billion.
