The NEAR Foundation, the non-profit organization that develops the NEAR blockchain, has announced a major partnership with Alibaba Cloud, the computing and storage arm of Chinese tech giant Alibaba. Following the news, the NEAR token rose to highs of $1.61, a 3-week high from early June.

The collaboration grants NEAR access to the cloud computing provider’s developer ecosystem, allowing more developers in Asia and the Middle East to build on the NEAR protocol. This also provides users with remote procedure calls (RPC) as-a-service, which enables multi-chain access to blockchain data and transactions.

The partnership with Alibaba Cloud comes shortly after the NEAR Foundation partnered with Vortex Gaming, the Web3 subsidiary of South Korea-based gaming company INVEN. The goal of the partnership is to enhance Web3 gaming on Vortex Gaming and the NEAR game ecosystem, including via offline hackathons. Vortex Gaming will be using NEAR’s layer-1 protocol and the Blockchain Operating System (BOS), an open source OS for the open web. The BOS was announced in March and is multi-chain compatible for browsing and discovering the Open web.

The partnership with Alibaba Cloud and Vortex Gaming is part of NEAR Foundation’s mission to advance Web3 adoption in Asia and the Middle East. These partnerships provide the potential for the NEAR Protocol price to reach new highs.
