On Wednesday, crypto companies are descending on Capitol Hill to advance industry-friendly laws. However, their efforts may be overshadowed by the ongoing fight over the federal budget and a Senate crackdown on the use of crypto for money laundering.
Coinbase, the biggest US crypto exchange, and Stand With Crypto, a non-profit it founded, have organized a grassroots advocacy campaign. Executives from digital asset companies are meeting with lawmakers and their staff to push for two major bills passed in July by the House Financial Services Committee. These bills would provide clarity over which existing financial rules apply to the industry.
