The Ukraine National football team has announced a collaboration with a major player in the digital currency space. The goal is to encourage crypto adoption among fans. A European-based exchange for coins has signed an agreement to last for three years, becoming the official sponsor of the team.
Whitebit Exchange Seeks To Broaden Ukraine’s Crypto Community By Attracting Soccer Enthusiasts
Whitebit, a crypto platform with Ukrainian roots, has signed an extended contract with the Ukraine National soccer team. The exchange’s logo will be showcased during matches, according to a report by Forklog. The company commented, “We are in the same realm as soccer fans, so we are truly delighted that we have become partners with the Ukrainian National Football Team. This will support Ukrainian sports and expand the Ukrainian crypto community.”
Whitebit will be the team’s crypto sponsor until 2026. During this time, the exchange will host several events to educate and entertain those interested in blockchain technology. There will also be competitions for supporters. This is Football House in Kyiv.
The idea is to bring together football fans to work on initiatives that will promote the widespread use of digital currencies. Ukraine has been a leader in the region when it comes to cryptocurrency acceptance in recent years.
Given the Russian invasion, Ukraine has had to rely on donations in various forms to finance humanitarian and defense efforts. Whitebit is one of the firms that has provided support. The company stated, “We are confident that this partnership will help make cryptocurrencies more widely known, and their convenience and accessibility will be appreciated.”
This is not the first time Whitebit has been involved in soccer. In December last year, the exchange became the official partner of Spanish soccer giant Barcelona. The CEO of Whitebit, Volodymyr Nosov, commented, “Our partners have the goal of getting their followers interested in the most advanced technologies. We also strive to spread knowledge about cryptocurrencies and blockchain.”
