Cryptocurrency Markets Today: Bitcoin Stays Flat, Altcoins Rally | Mint – Mint

Published:

Cryptocurrency prices had an interesting day today, as the world’s most popular and largest digital token, Bitcoin, stayed relatively flat. Prices for the token were down $16,810, and it is now three-quarters of its all-time high of $69,000. The global cryptocurrency market capitalization is currently below $1 trillion, and it was stagnant for the past 24 hours at $845 billion according to CoinGecko data. “The release of US Q3 GDP data showed an upward revision to 3.2% from the previously reported 2.9%, and this had little effect on the price of Bitcoin which stayed within the range of $16,500 to $17,000,” commented Edul Patel, the Co-founder and CEO of Mudrex, a global crypto investment platform. Meanwhile, Ether, the token linked to the Ethereum blockchain, was nearly unchanged at $1,220. Other altcoins had an excellent day today, with prices for Dogecoin, Binance USD, Avalanche, Tether, Terra, Solana, Polygon, Stellar, XRP, Cardano, Litecoin, Polkadot, Chainlink, ApeCoin, and Tron all trading at a profit in the last 24 hours. The only coins that slipped were Solana and Uniswap. Cryptocurrencies have had a difficult 2022 so far, with a number of market shutdowns shaking investor confidence and reducing the market capitalization by $1.5 trillion. The most shocking of these was the implosion of the FTX Exchange, which was founded by Sam Bankman-Fried and accused of “fraud of epic proportions” by federal prosecutors in Manhattan. Bankman-Fried was released on Thursday on a bail package of $250 million.
