It was at DEVCON1 that the passion, creativity, and ambition of the Ethereum developer community was truly demonstrated. Despite having limited resources, this small yet growing cohort are striving to make the most of the potential that the Ethereum World Computer holds and to revolutionize the way our current models of society are organized by introducing a more transparent and inspectable system.
The ÐΞVgrants program was launched on April 7th, 2015 in order to lighten the load of the more basic development tools that can hopefully help to achieve the above-mentioned goals. At DEVCON1, I gave a short talk summarizing all the projects that had been funded up until that point, and made a special announcement regarding the continuation of these funds.
Omise’s Contribution
The good news is that we now have an additional $100,000 USD in funding. This is all thanks to the generous donation of a single donor, meaning that this year’s budget is even larger than expected.
“We are honoured to have the opportunity to support the decentralization revolution, starting with our contribution to restart the Ethereum ÐΞVgrants program.” – Jun Hasegawa, CEO of Omise
We strongly hope that this donation will act as an encouragement to any other potential funders to come forward and support ÐΞVgrants, as well as any other similar efforts to promote the application of potential applicants.
