We are excited to kick off the new year with an update that goes beyond just announcing the location and date for Devcon 7. This year, we are expanding our vision and embracing the entire Southeast Asia region as the stage for our community gathering. Want to know why? Keep reading!
First and foremost, we want to thank you for your patience as we finalize the details for our next destination. After a memorable Devcon VI in Bogotá, we have decided to schedule Devcon 7 for 2024. One of the main reasons for this decision is our desire to have a greater impact on regional Ethereum communities. The extra time will allow us to engage with these communities in a more meaningful way, providing support and empowerment.
With this new vision in mind, we are renaming Devcon 7 to “Devcon Southeast Asia” instead of using the host city’s name. This reflects our goal of making Devcon 7 a more inclusive and regionally focused event.

We are thrilled to announce that Devcon 7 will take place from November 12-15 in the dynamic city of Bangkok, Thailand 🥳🎉. This event will resonate across Southeast Asia throughout the coming year. The Ethereum community in this region has a lot of potential, as seen in its growing crypto adoption. Vietnam, the Philippines, Indonesia, and Thailand are leading in the Global Crypto Adoption Index, highlighting the region’s important role in the global Ethereum landscape.
Southeast Asia is a melting pot of diverse cultures, rich histories, and communities. Our intention is to envelop the whole region in the Devcon experience. From the bustling streets of Kuala Lumpur to the scenic beauty of Bali, from the technological hub of Singapore to the historical charm of Vietnam, this region is full of energy. Bangkok, with its blend of tradition and modernity, is the perfect location in terms of venue and accessibility.
As we prepare for Devcon 7, we have launched the Road To Devcon (RTD) Grants round. This initiative aims to support new Ethereum events, grassroots communities, and educational endeavors in Southeast Asia. We are thrilled to see the enthusiasm and innovative proposals pouring in from countries like Indonesia, Cambodia, Malaysia, Thailand, Singapore, the Philippines, and Vietnam. To those we have already supported, we give a big shout-out! Your projects and efforts are paving the way for the Ethereum community in Southeast Asia. If you have community-driven ambitions and are based in Southeast Asia, we encourage you to apply for a small sponsorship and contribute to shaping the ecosystem.
At its core, what makes Devcon special is our diverse and ever-evolving community. As we look towards Devcon 7, we want to continue involving the community.
