Ethereum Protocol Fellowship: Applying for the Third Cohort

Published:

Do you have a knack for solving complex and interesting problems? Are you passionate about participating in the lowest levels of the Ethereum protocol organization?

The Protocol Support (EF) Team is pleased to announce that applications are now open for the 3rd cohort of the Ethereum Protocol Fellowship (formerly known as CDAP Developer Learning Basics)!

With the Merge closing in (58750000000000000000000 🥳), Ethereum core developers are itching to move onto the next development phase. There is a need for skilled and dedicated individuals to create an even more secure and robust protocol on the Ethereum network.

Enter The Ethereum Protocol Scholarship.

What is the Ethereum Protocol Scholarship (EPF)?

The EPF (Empowerment Program for Developers) is a program to empower developers in the process of allowing protocol development to take place. It is an opportunity to explore the protocol more deeply, learn from others, and work closely with core development partners and other learners.

Although protocol development can be tough, it can also be exciting, intellectually challenging, and rewarding. Unfortunately, the entry threshold for this job is quite high. It requires a deep understanding of various engineering concepts. As well as strong verbal and written communication skills. The program is designed to make it easier to overcome these obstacles and to provide guidance and support for core developers.

Past Cohorts

EPF has already seen two successful cohorts. During that time, cohort members have:

  • Created an alternative method of documenting and specifying the Ethereum protocol.
  • Explored how to modify or remove the SELFDESTRUCT opcode
  • Assisted ZKSync in building
  • Developed new peer-to-peer networks for Portal Network.
  • Implemented the EVM in their own way
  • The cohort includes 10 alumni who now work full-time in core protocols development while five others are in related areas.

Be a part of something great!

The development of the core protocol is key to the wellbeing and improvement of the multi-billion dollar Ethereum protocol, a protocol we believe to be a fundamental part of creating a fairer future for humanity. Do you want to be part of something special?
