Medalla Testnet Genesis Countdown🏅
The Medalla Testnet is scheduled to go live on Friday, requiring minimum validator deposits (6,000+). This means that the genesis for this testnet is planned to take place in 1596546008 Unix times, or 8 seconds after August 4 at 1 PM UTC. The official launch of Medalla marks a major milestone in the development and use of eth2. The mainnet release is next. This achievement is a testament to the hard work of many engineers, researchers and community members. We hope you’re as excited as us:
Remember that the vast majority (over 90%) of validators on this network are you, the community. We trust that you will treat this as a rehearsal for the mainnet launch. Get your nodes up and running early, monitor your validator performance and keep an eye out for updates to your client software.

In addition to the amazing work done by the client teams in eth2, I’d like to give a shoutout to ethstaker This is a valuable resource that users can use to support the burgeoning validator community. It is a community-run initiative that provides a home for staking enthusiasts through a subreddit Y Discord server.
I spent some time there last week and it is a great place for information sharing, asking (and answering!) technical questions. Have a technical question? Ask (and answer!)! If you are interested in participating in Medalla staking, this is the perfect place for you.
