Gemini Exchange has announced the relisting of XRP token for several currency pairs, including USD, GBP, and EUR. The exchange has enabled support for XRP Ledger blockchain, with ActiveTrader and API/FIX applications ready for XRP/USD trading. Despite the news, the XRP price showed no significant reaction.
The relisting by Gemini provides access to 14 blockchain networks, such as Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), Solana (SOL), Dogecoin (DOGE), and Litecoin (LTC). XRP tokens can be stored in Gemini wallets, but are not currently accessible in Gemini Custody.
Ripple’s products allow for reducing the cost and time taken for cross-border payments and remittances, using XRP as a bridge currency. The token is used to settle transactions in multiple fiat currencies for financial institutions.
The relisting of XRP by US exchanges may open a new chapter for Ripple’s partnerships in the country. Following the Summary Judgment in the Ripple Vs SEC lawsuit, Ripple is now able to fully explore retail opportunities.
