Hyundai and Kia Partner With Hedera Network to Track CO2 Emissions

Published:

Hyundai Motor Company and Kia Corporation have adopted Hedera Network, signaling an increase in blockchain adoption. The two automakers have launched an AI-powered CO2 Emission Monitoring System through the highly scalable Hedera Network. The HBAR Foundation reported that Hedera’s value is recognized by enterprises beyond the Governing Council and that when data accuracy and security are mission critical, Hedera is unparalleled.

The CO2 Emission Monitoring System (SCEMS) enables Hyundai and Kia to access accurate information about their suppliers’ operations, such as the procurement of raw materials, production process, and transportation of finished goods. This is a significant step in the fight against climate change, which requires a reduction of carbon emissions. The SCEMS also utilizes AI technology, allowing for exact prediction of future carbon emissions and the setting of carbon reduction targets.

Following the announcement, the price of HBAR, the native token of Hedera Network, surged above $0.053. However, it has since dropped back to roughly $0.052. This could indicate the presence of strong bear forces, which have been weighing down the HBAR price over the past month.
