Introducing Tether Transfers to Chat via Telegram App – Crypto News

Published:

The leading stablecoin, tether (USDT), is now available for users of the popular Telegram messenger, allowing direct transfers between chats. This expands the list of cryptocurrencies purchasable, saleable, and exchangeable within the messaging application.

Tether Added to Telegram’s Wallet Bot

The world’s largest stablecoin, tether, has been integrated into the Telegram messaging service, popular in the cryptocurrency space. USDT is now accessible within the Telegram Wallet bot, permitting users to purchase, sell, exchange, and transfer the coin free of charge among peers.

“We are delighted to announce the integration of USDT into @wallet, making it as easy to send stablecoins as sending a photo,” the wallet service declared in a Telegram post.

Tether can be topped up through the bot’s main menu, using an external USDT wallet and by buying the stablecoin with a credit card or on Telegram’s peer-to-peer (P2P) market. @wallet only accepts transfers from the TRC-20 network, the announcement stated.

The wallet’s interface has undergone an update. All crypto assets can be seen on the home page and users can select which coins they want displayed from ‘Settings’. Buying options are available in the ‘Market’ section.

The messenger’s P2P marketplace has been updated as well, permitting users to buy and sell stablecoins directly in the bot by selecting one of the available offers. An ‘Exchange’ feature has appeared on the main page allowing users to trade USDT and TON.

Toncoin (TON), which can also be sent in chats, and bitcoin (BTC), the crypto with the largest market cap, were added to the unofficial @wallet bot in April, 2022.

The Telegram Open Network (TON) blockchain was created in 2018. However, in 2020, Telegram distanced itself from the project due to litigation with the United States Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).

Continued support for the TON network was provided by members of the TON Foundation community who kept its development, RBC Crypto noted in a report.

Although Telegram is not directly involved in the expansion of the TON ecosystem, it remains engaged. Last year, the messenger launched a blockchain platform called Fragment enabling the purchase and sale of collectible usernames with toncoin.
