Japanese Airline Launches NFTs Marketplace

Air Nippon Airways (ANA), Japan’s largest airline, has unveiled an aeronautical-themed non-fungible tokens (NFTs) marketplace in partnership with its subsidiary ANA Neo. This is part of the airline’s ongoing Web3 expansion.

The newly launched marketplace is called ANA GranWhale NFT Marketplace and it will feature an inaugural collection of digital photos created by aerial photographer Luke Ozawa. One of the photos will be sold with a positive film, the source of photo development, at an auction for 100,000 yen.

The second collection, to be released on June 7, will be a 3D model airplane of the first Boeing 787 operated by ANA. This collection will contain 1,574 items, with each item priced at 7,870 yen.

The development of ANA Neo’s GranWhale marketplace commenced in August 2023 with a vision to recreate the destinations and cultures of the world in the form of metaverse parks, using virtual reality technology.
