“Nomura’s Laser Digital Teams Up with Pyth Network as Data Partner”

Published:

Laser Digital, a subsidiary of global financial services giant Nomura, has joined forces with Pyth Network, a leading oracle platform, in a strategic partnership. This collaboration will bring together Laser Digital’s expertise and experience in the banking world with Pyth Network’s growing presence in the DeFi ecosystem.

As a data provider for Pyth Network, Laser Digital will leverage its network, tools, and resources to streamline access to financial market data for the DeFi space. This includes providing crypto pricing data, with plans to expand into other assets in the future.

“We are excited to support Pyth Network in its journey as a decentralized data provider. We look forward to contributing to the growth of the Pyth ecosystem through our expertise and experience,” said Laser Digital CEO Jez Mohideen.

This partnership is just one of the many moves made by Laser Digital in the past year to expand its presence in the digital assets space. In February 2023, the company invested in DeFi protocol Infinity, and in September, it launched the Bitcoin Adoption Fund for institutional investors. Laser Digital has also received approval from Abu Dhabi Global Market and opened a Japan office, as well as making its metaverse debut through a partnership with The Sandbox and teaming up with institutional trading platform Talos.

On the other hand, Pyth Network has quickly become one of the largest oracle networks in the crypto industry since its launch in April 2021. It currently offers over 450 price feeds from more than 100 data providers, covering a wide range of assets such as crypto, stocks, forex, ETFs, and commodities. It also supports over 300 dApp integrations and more than 50 blockchains, including Arbitrum.

In summary, this partnership between Laser Digital and Pyth Network marks a significant step towards bridging the traditional finance world with the fast-growing DeFi industry. It also highlights the increasing demand for reliable and accurate financial market data in the decentralized economy.
