Subpoenas Issued to Three Arrows Capital Co-Founders Via Twitter in Bankruptcy Proceedings

The liquidators of the fund have attempted to reach the founders and managers of the now-defunct cryptocurrency hedge funds Three Arrows Capital (3AC) via Twitter. This is a rare occurrence, though it has been utilized in the past, including when WikiLeaks provided the service on Twitter in 2018.

Su Zhu and Kyle Davies, the two co-founders of Three Arrows Capital (3AC), have been hard to get a hold of for the purpose of bankruptcy liquidation. The firm had filed for Chapter 15 bankruptcy protection in the US in the early part of July 2022. However, in the 3AC bankruptcy proceedings, liquidators and creditors have attested to the difficulty in communicating with the founders. The courts permitted the liquidators of the 3AC co-founders to be notified via Twitter.

Davies and Zhu have been quite active on Twitter in recent times, particularly since the FTX collapse. They have been vocal critics of Genesis and Digital Currency Group (DCG) amid the controversy regarding liquidity issues with Gemini. Davies also discussed the incident involving the UST removal and LUNA. The Twitter account “3ACLiquidation” served subpoenas to the founders of 3AC via Twitter on January 5, 2023.

The 3ACLiquidation Twitter account wrote: “Attached to this tweet is a jpg copy of the subpoena. You can request a redacted copy of this summons via email. The founders were ridiculed on Twitter after people saw the subpoena being issued via Twitter. Nic Carter tweeted in response, “You shouldn’t tweet so much, huh?
