Can Dogecoin Really Reach $1?
At the current price of $0.066, it would require a 1400% increase for Dogecoin to reach $1. This would make its market capitalization around $140 billion, which is more than the market cap of Starbucks and Paypal. According to Techopedia, it is possible for Dogecoin to reach $1 by 2030.
The creation of the “DRC-20” token standard increased activity on the Dogecoin blockchain, similar to Bitcoin Ordinals and Litecoin Ordinals protocols. However, it remains to be seen whether this will generate sustained demand or remain a passing trend. Dogecoin also has the advantage of being a Proof of Work coin, so it is not declared as a security by the SEC.
Two tokenomics issues could limit Dogecoin’s price. Firstly, the concentration of ownership is a concern, with the top 10 holders controlling 46% of all Dogecoins. Secondly, it is an inflationary token, with an unlimited supply, unlike other cryptocurrencies.
