In a joint effort, Canadian art collective Sphynx Ink Inc. and OpenSea’s exclusive “Drops” platform have collaborated to launch a pioneering Digital Collectibles project in the form of Winkles & Flam, the web3 space’s first cartoon duo.
Oscar®-nominated filmmaker Adam Benzine and BAFTA®-winning illustrator Dele Nuga are the minds behind Winkles & Flam – the ‘Cosplaying Canadian Kitties’ – two adorkable sibling Sphynx cats who dress up in homemade, video game-inspired outfits. After a year of hard work, they’ve made sure that the project stands out from the current NFT projects, as it is not a PFP (Profile Picture) and does not use generative elements.
Starting April 3 with weekly content drops, instead of all at once, Winkles & Flam will spread across five seasons, with sets of hand-drawn images comprising a mix of free mint, fixed-price and auctioned offerings. Each set is inspired by an iconic video game, and with the Winklepedia™ educational component, viewers will also be able to learn about the history of video games.
A Season Pass is now available for purchase exclusively via OpenSea Drops, limited to 1,000 copies and granting buyers all 30 cards from Season 1.
The project is the first major one to utilize Mintplex Lab’s Mint Foundry, a visual metadata editor that allows creators to edit and update information in real-time, without coding knowledge.

Season 1 of Winkles & Flam starts on April 3 and runs for 10 weeks, with weekly free mint cards (featuring Winkles) and fixed-priced cards (featuring Flam) released on Polygon.
